Dubbo Care Family Practice

Dr George Dawoud and Dr Amal Tadros are a husband and wife team who opened this practice in 2006.

Mission Statement: Our Mission is to provide the highest standard of patient care whilst incorporating a holistic approach toward diagnosis and management of illness.

We are committed to promoting health, well-being and disease prevention to all patients. We do not discriminate in the provison of excellent care and aim to treat all patients with dignity and respect.

DubboCare is also a teaching practice. We are currently rotating 3 registrars through the practice.

Appointments
Appointments can be arranged by calling 68843551. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and GP. Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there may be any unforeseen delay. Longer consultation times are available, if you require some extra time please let our receptionists know. 

Communication Policy
Doctors do not accept phone calls from patients during consultations. A message can be given at reception. Reception staff will then forward an internal email to the appropriate doctor for their response, i.e. return phone call. If the matter is urgent the nurses are usually available to answer any queries.

Fees
Pension, Health Care Card holders and children under 16 are routinely bulk billed. 
Private consultation fees are:
$60 – Standard Consultation
$90 – Extended Consultation or if multiple issues are discussed.
Procedures and other testing (i.e. ECGs, audiometry etc) will incur various fees. Please ask reception for these prices. Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, cheque or Eftpos / credit card.

Interpreter/Translation Service
If you or a family member requires an interpreter service, we can organise this for you. Please let us know when you make an appointment. Deaf and Hearing Translation Service
Available through National Auslan Interpreter Booking Service (NABS). This is a free service – 1800246914.

Treatment Room
Our Treatment room is staffed by our Practice Nurse. Minor operations and procedures, vaccinations, hearing tests, spirometry, doppler and ECG can be performed from this facility.

Recalls and Results
Our practice has a recall system in place. Patients will be recalled for all pathology results as deemed necessary by their GP. A reminder system also operates to recall patients as necessary.

Nursing Home Visits
Visits are done weekly, on a Tuesday afternoon.

Home Visits
Home visits are at the discretion of the individual doctor. 

After Hours Services
After Hours services are provided in conjunction with several other practices which constitute the Dubbo After Hours Medical Service. The duty doctor can be contacted by phoning 6884 2100. 
Confidentiality

Your medical records are confidential documents. It is the policy of our practice to maintain security of personal information at all times and to ensure that the information is only available to authorised members of staff.

Attention patients we would like to thank you for your recent feedback via the cfep survey from May 2012.

The areas we are endeavouring to improve are:

•Waiting times within the surgery: to advise patients if there is an extended period of waiting. Phoning ahead of appointment times if necessary, to shorten waiting times for patients if their doctor is running late.

•We are looking into the possibility of Home Visits in the future.

•Also improving the After Hours Satisfaction for patients who use this service, to advertise and educate the surgery’s patients of how and when to access this service.
