Nevin graduated from the Graduate Medical Program at the University of Sydney in 2005, obtaining the qualifications of MBBS (Hons). He was awarded a Master of Public Health from the University of Queensland in 2009 and obtained Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2010. Nevin has spent the past 5 years (2008-12) as a Medical Officer in the Australian Army. During this time, he has obtained training an experience in trauma management, aeromedical evacuation, underwater/dive medicine and chemical & biological casualty management. Nevin has deployed on operations with the Australian Defence Force three times, twice to Afghanistan with the Special Operations Task Group on Operation Slipper and also to Nauru as part of Operation Resolute. Having always had an interest in dermal therapies and dermatological surgery, Nevin has completed training in these areas through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the Australasian College of Dermatologists, the Australasian Academy of Cosmetic Dermal Science, Allergan and Allmedic. He also completed a 6 month placement as a Principal House Officer in general surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in 2012. Nevin is a Samford resident and married to Hui-Lin. In addition to medicine, Nevin has an interest in international affairs, holding a Bachelor of International Business, a Graduate Diploma of Chinese Language and a Diploma of Export Management.
