Dr Susan Allman is a Founding member and Managing Partner of Miller Street Medical Practices. As well as working as a General Practitioner, she has postgraduate qualifications in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and also in Mental Health. She was a Registrar in charge of a Neonatal Intensive Care Nursery prior to starting in General Practice and enjoys Paediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynaecology and surgical procedures such as insertion of Mirena IUDs and Implanon devices, injection of joints and excision of skin lesions. She is a qualified Implanon Trainer. She shares antenatal care of her patients with several local obstetricians and is a surgical assistant at hospitals close by. She has a Masters in Psychological Medicine (UNSW), is a qualified Level 2 Mental Health Care Provider for Medicare claiming and is on the Beyond Blue website as a referral Doctor. She runs a Mirena IUD and Implanon insertion and removal clinic on Friday afternoons. She has a keen interest in Menopausal issues and is a Member of the Australian Menopause Association Outside the Practice she has worked as the Student Affairs Coordinator for the medical students at the University of New South Wales and as Tutor and Examiner for the 5th year medical students. She regularly accepts medical students into the surgery for training and is also currently Deputy Chair of the Northern Sydney General Practice Network Board. She plays oboe in the Beecroft Orchestra and the NSW Drs Orchestra at Charity events. She also loves long walking trips and completed the Kokoda Track and is happy to give advice to patients who are contemplating this expedition. She is married with three children and enjoys involvement in their sporting and musical pursuits.
